Training

While the JLLV has numerous ways to volunteer time and service, it also offers valuable training opportunities for its members. All of it is developed and executed with this in mind: Empowered Women. Stronger Communities

Members can learn about different fields in the workplace, develop leadership skills, increase their understanding of current events in Las Vegas, and discuss hot topics or hard topics by attending general membership, small group or group meetings. Members can gain experience in leadership by participating in one of the league’s training tracks, the JLLV EmpowHER, chairing a committee or serving on the Board and Management.

While members serving in leadership do receive excellent training, members do not have to do so to gain experience and training within the League. Members who volunteer in League leadership placements receive training in areas from underwriting to communications and technology to project management.

Members who choose to serve in the community can receive training in multiple areas, from lifeskills and finance to working with youth, to assisting underprivileged families, schools, and so much more, all impacting our community. Community volunteers have the opportunity to get involved in areas near to JLLV’s heart, which include Lifeskills, Youth, Health, Education, Human Trafficking, and more.

Through the skills and resources provided, JLLV members are empowered to impact lives around them through volunteer service, while also developing themselves through opportunities they might not receive in the workplace or at home.

Members have the opportunity to attend three types of meetings:

Membership Development

The League provides additional training for members to grow in a number of areas. Outside of normal meeting requirements, members can participate in the training track to develop specific skills spanning self defense, retirement planning, building a personal brand, networking, public speaking, project management, Artificial Intelligence, and more.

General Membership Meetings

General Membership Meetings (GMMs) provide the general membership body with more robust content around the inner workings of the League. Memberships have a unique opportunity to learn about various relevant topics and community needs from prominent guest speakers. Committee reports, event promotions, networking opportunities and JLLV updates a from leadership are also provided.

Committee Meetings

Members will participate in monthly committee meetings, where they can lead initiatives related to JLLV’s foundational pillars. These meetings offer members the chance to explore new interests, take on leadership roles, develop skills, and further their passions. These meetings are designed to appeal to women of all generations.
